Great atmosphere. They seem to be really busy with done in and phone orders. We ordered a chicken bacon ranch and a Hawaiian pizza plus some garlic bread as an appetizer. The garlic bread wasn't impressive looking... looked like a sub roll with butter and garlic. But one bite says it is completely different! It was great! Then our pizzas came out. They were beautiful!! The chicken bacon ranch had the most amazing chicken on top!! We ended up taking half of each pizza home. They look small because they are only 4 pieces each but, we've got dinner for tomorrow too!! Absolutely recommend this place!!

I could kick myself for not trying Dante’s sooner!! I ordered the classic pepperoni and their special this week, the “Ragin’ Cajun”… they both were SO good! The crispy edges on both of these were crispy fabulous-ness! The pepperoni was perfection, and the Ragin’ Cajun was so flavorful!!! It had BBQ pulled pork or "burnt ends" with Cajun infused ricotta… I will be back!! Soon… and Often!! A+++++
My husband and I split the McDante (took the pic after we dove in ). $23 for pizza (large enough for two) and an iced tea. Patio area is nice, we sat inside. If you have never tried a Detroit style pizza, it’s a must!
Outstanding!! A must visit! Don’t short change yourself! Humble and filled to the brim with Maine hospitality only to be over-shadow by some slamin Detroit pie!! We enjoyed our Meatzz Meatzz pie and voluminous piece of fried dough. Even though we are from Connecticut; we will have to take the ride to visit Nate’s Dante, Detroit Style pie!! Will be writing a review on Trip Advisor! This is a must-do when you are the neighborhood! Thanks, Nate!!
We have visited Dante's a few times over the years. Detroit-style pizza is rare for the area – it keeps us coming back. The staff is super friendly and loves to chat. The menu includes salads, appetizers, and sandwiches - in addition to their pizza offerings. We sat in the dining room this time, but the outside seating during the summer months was so much fun. Luckily, it is sectioned off by a fence to avoid the eyesore of Route 1. The buffalo chicken tenders and the pepperoni pizza are some of our favorites. I specifically love square-style pizza and when pepperoni cups crisp up like they do at Dante's. One pizza is large and filling enough to feed two people.
Really amazing Detroit style pizza. The pepperoni is loaded with cup and char style ronis and lots of cheese, and crispy edges. You even get an extra side of sauce!
Food: So many options on the menu! We ordered the meat lovers special pizza, it was very good but very very greasy! Just enough for two people to eat. Understandable with the amount of meat on the pizza but the grease was too much. The meats all had good flavor and the pizza was a perfect crunch and gooey chewy. The mozzarella sticks are perfect! Delicious marinara sauce. Only bottled drinks available from soda to tea to water and more. Pizza is served in a to go box with paper plates and actual silverware. Service: everyone was super friendly and helpful. Atmosphere: Inside was very hot, we sat on the private back patio. Bathrooms were clean (but small). Parking lot was tricky - not familiar with the area and bad line of vision backing out onto the road.
Dante's is by far the best pizza that I've had in Southern Maine. The atmosphere inside is amazing, the food is extremely high quality, and Nathan is one of the most down to earth business owners out there. Their Detroit style pies are a must try, and whether you're local or just passing by I highly recommend you pop in.
